Application and characteristics of galvalume aluminized coil

Aluminized zinc coil, also known as aluminized steel coil. It is also called high quality galvalume steel coating steel coil or hot dip aluminized coil. Aluminized steel coil is aluminum-silicon alloy coated steel coil, in which the content of aluminum is 90%, silicon 10%. Aluminized steel coil has good heat resistance, heat reflection, and corrosion resistance, and its mechanical and physical properties are better than cold-rolled steel coil. Because of the superior performance of the aluminized steel coil, it has been widely used in our daily products. Such as car muffler, household appliances and so on.

USES for aluminized zinc coils
Car parts, thermal equipment, building materials, etc.

Aluminized zinc coil is called "hot dip aluminum coil ", which is similar to hot dip galvanized steel coil in the manufacturing process. But its heat resistance is better than galvanized steel.

Currently, only South Korean and Japanese steel mills can produce the product in Asia.

According to the different USES, in order to further enhance the corrosion resistance of materials, there are also special specification products through surface post-treatment (chromate treatment, no (hexavalent) chromate treatment).

Characteristics of aluminized zinc coil

1. High-temperature resistance: because of the specific combination of steel coil substrate and coating organization, the formation of an iron-aluminum alloy, so that the GL Galvalumed Steel Coil made in China has excellent high-temperature resistance. Extremely high reflectivity is guaranteed at 450℃. At higher than 480℃, coating appearance gray. When the temperature is up to 650℃, the protective layer to prevent the oxidation of the steel coil is still well preserved without any shedding.

2. Thermal reflection: at 480 degrees Celsius high temperature, an aluminum coil can reflect 80% of the incoming heat. Therefore, aluminized coils can be made into efficient insulation barriers or heat reflectors for high-temperature applications, which rapidly increase the temperature in the furnace through effective heat reflection.

3. Mechanical strength: at room temperature, the mechanical strength of the aluminum coil is consistent with that of the substrate. At the same temperature of 480℃, the strength of the aluminized steel coil is 10 times that of aluminum coil, so the thickness of the steel coil can be reduced by at least 30%.

4. Corrosion resistance: in the process of hot-dip plating, molten aluminum immediately react with oxygen in the air to form a layer of Al2O3 protective layer, so that the surface of the steel coil immediately passivation. This protective layer is very stable and does not dissolve in water. Even if the surface of the steel coil is scratched later, this protective layer can heal itself. Therefore, aluminum zinc steel coil in stock has strong corrosion resistance to chemical corrosion.
